Traditional mixing methods, such as nitrogen bubbling or overhead stirring, can cause incomplete reactions, which is crucial for peptide synthesis. An incomplete reaction lowers the coupling efficiency and reduces the synthetic purity.
To ensure the highest coupling efficiency is achieved during the synthesis, PSI pioneered the “Total Mixing” model and invented the 180° Inversion Mixing Technology. With 180° Inversion Mixing Technology, each individual bead of the resin is mixed with the reagent continuously. Rapid collisions between molecules improve the coupling efficiency and speed up the reaction.
Using this approach, the average coupling yield can reach 99.5%. This is very important for the synthesis of high purity peptides, and extremely useful for long and difficult peptides. Customers can optimize the reaction by adjusting the mixing speed for the best performance.
Efficient use of Solvent
Solvent is expensive. So how can you spend only half the solvent, but still get the good results? PSI solved this problem by recycling the “relatively clean” washing solvent for the next wash cycle. This pre-programmed method not only cuts the cost in half, but is also environmentally friendly.
